Taylor 8mm spark plug wires

Our performance spark plug wires are designed to be a direct fit into your Volvo 200/700/900, and the older B16, B18 and B20 engine in the vintage cars.  These wires are assembled by hand using a high quality terminal crimping tool.  Each connector is crimped tightly and then inspected to ensure that it won't pull off under normal use.  We decided to use Taylor's 8mm Spiro-Pro silicone wire for its versatility, pliability and array of color choices.  After extensive testing with these wires in our 242 we have nothing but good things to say about them.  They will do a great job of replacing the old cruddy factory wires that are falling apart on your car, and they look great too!  Higher output ignition components like MSD coils will benefit from these wires, getting as much spark energy as possible to the plug. 

We can build them using wire in any of the following colors:  Black, Red, Blue, Orange, and Hot Lime.  They come with red spark plug boots, unless you order the black option.  If you want to match your plug wires to the color of your engine bay, this is a great way to do so!  These wires are made to order, the turnaround time will usually be less than two weeks.  Paypal is the preferred method of payment, but money orders or checks can also be mailed to us, please e-mail to inquire. 

There are several kinds of aftermarket coils that work with our cars, the most common being the MSD Blaster 2 or the Accel Super Coil.  If you have a 240, you can use these coils with the stock wires or my wires perfectly.  Another is this style with a "spark plug tip" connector.  If you have a 700/900 with a headmount distributor and any coil other than stock, please let me know.

B16, B18, B20 spark plug wires.  $60.00   Out of stock until further notice

These are the engines that reside in what we now call vintage volvos, the 544's, 120 Amazon's, 1800's, 140's and the '75 240.  B16 engines have a clockwise firing order, while the B18 and B20 engines use a counter-clockwise firing order.  Therefore the plug wire lengths and routing will differ slightly.  It is easy to find out which engine you have, the block has a casting mark just behind the distributor and under the #4 plug that will say which engine it is.  For more engine information, click here.

I have not yet made B30 wires for the inline 6cyl engine in the Volvo 164, but if you have one please send me measurements! 

Also I only know the coil wire length for Amazons!  If you have a 540/1800/140/etc, or a relocated coil, please send me a coil wire length when ordering. 

**I recommend that you use resistor spark plugs when using these wires, especially if you're running programmable engine management like Megasquirt.  Some users complained that their Megasquirted car ran weird with these wires, and I noticed that on my car as well.  Simply switching to resistor spark plugs cured everything.

**Also all of these spark plug wires require that you keep the little acorn nut that screws onto the end of your spark plugs, pictured HERE.

Not only do you get to choose a colour, but everything people say about them is true, they're just high quality. The think I like best is how they are snug on the spark plugs though, that was my main reason for getting them originally. When I was complaining about my OEM plug wires not popping onto my plugs properly, somebody recommended these, and they're perfect.

I had a set of the Kingsbourne wires and I must say, they are a rather poor design. The connectors break easily (I know, I broke two of them) and they are not easy to remove.
Thank you for providing a good quality product! I'm happy with my set (so far). They take 5 minutes to install and fit very well. I was very surprised to find dialelectric grease already inside the spark plug boots (attention to detail wins every time).

These plug wires are of great quality, and stay on REALLY well. Of all the separators I've tried, the ones you included with the set of wires in my 940 have been the ONLY ones to both fit the wires and not melt and deform or fall off.

The wires held up AMAZINGLY on that rally from Santa Barbara to Vegas (14 hours of solid driving, and quite spirited btw) and the wires still look brand spankin' new!
And that was back in November, they STILL look new.

(and haven't fallen apart like the IPD wires ;) )
